We are looking for a highly analytical and organized problem-solver with a positive attitude, keen attention to detail, and a passion for cultivating relationships.

The Junior Business Analyst works under the general day to day direction of the Manager of Customer Engagement.

This net new role to the organization will be responsible for providing analytical and administrative support to our Corporate Services team, such as processing invoices and purchase orders, scheduling and coordinating meetings, completing financial and reliability reporting and analysis, assisting with streamlining processes and procedures, and participating in various projects.

Our corporate departments include the Finance, Human Resources, Regulatory, Information Technology, and Customer Engagement teams.


Key functions of this role:


Project Management, Budgeting, and Continuous Improvement:

  • Assist with project coordination and management, project controls, and change management as required to ensure the achievement of project goals and the completion of deliverables on time.
  • Provide financial information to support the budget development process, and ensure all deadlines are obtained and within budget targets.
  • Suggest and implement continuous improvement efforts across the corporate service departments.
  • Establish and manage a process measurement system to align with organizational goals and objectives through analyzing operating data to improve operational efficiencies.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Conduct analysis and recommend improvements for General Customer Service Reporting metrics including but not limited to phone stats, phone types, NSF's, adjustments, credit and collections efforts, bad debt, and collection agency reporting.
  • Review and analyze FortisOntario accounts receivable including trending analysis, age analysis, receivable turnover ratios, billing accuracy and reporting, and monthly reporting.
  • Support the tracking, analyzing, and preparing of Corporate Reports, such as outage management and reliability reports, as well as budget variance analysis.
  • Provide corporate business analytics, variance analysis and forecasting analysis to business units of FortisOntario Inc. as required.

Administrative:

  • Complete visa reconciliations, take meeting minutes, compile, and remind those responsible on action items, book meetings and verify attendance/availability as meetings approach.
  • Compile and organize policy documents and help with department network folder cleanup and organization.
  • Prepare budget summaries that reconcile actual spending with prepaid accounts, etc. and create detailed spending reports for IT and Corporate departments as required.
  • Create Customer and Corporate Communications inclusive of Social Media posts and website updates, transactional surveys, internal communications, events, and more.
  • General document management and documentation support.
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in the field of Economics (BEc or BEcon), Business Administration, or another related field.
  • 2+ years of related work experience, preferably in a corporate services or administrative support role.
  • Advanced computer skills with demonstrated knowledge in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with SAP would be considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with the development of a budget would be an asset.
  • Highly organized team player able to work independently and in a team, while managing multiple projects with strict deadlines.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, keeping confidentiality and being resourceful.
  • Extremely motivated and selfdirected with excellent interpersonal, analytical, problemsolving, written, and presentation skills to work with our internal and external customers.


This opportunity is located at our corporate office in beautiful Fort Erie, remote working on a partial basis would be considered after the probationary period.
