The Opportunity
This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location in the Point of Care, Diagnostics division.
We're empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life.
Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott's diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.
Our Point of Care diagnostic portfolio spans key health and therapeutic areas, including infectious disease, cardiometabolic, informatics and toxicology. We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst.In this position you will ensure appropriate integrity and reasonableness of financial data as well as compliance with Corporate and Divisional financial policies and procedures, with a profound understanding of US GAAP.
What You'll Do
- Requests for Capital Expenditures
- Capital expenditures detailed forecasting for Facilities, IT, R&D
- Distressed Inventory Reporting
- Manufacturing Cost Accounting Close & Material Usage / Accounting Variance Analysis
- Purchase Price Variance Analysis
- Purchase Order Review & Approvals
- Material Destruction Order Management
- Stats Can & other government reporting
- Detailed Cartridge Inventory Analysis & Reporting
- Work closely with Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality departments to provide detailed financial metrics and information
- Other daily ad hoc requests
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years related experience.
- CPA an asset.
- Knowledge of US GAAP is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Excel.
- Perform responsibilities with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timelines.
- Sets high personal standards of performance.
- Interpersonal and strong communication skills in order to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
- Strong problemsolving ability.
- Receptive to change and a team player.
- Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadline requirements.
