Racquets Maintenance Supervisor at Donalda Club

Position Summary:

Under the supervision and direction of the Head Racquets Professional, the Racquets Maintenance Supervisor will maintain the 12 clay tennis courts at Donalda Club, as well as other racquets facilities (pickleball, squash), and areas surrounding the Clubhouse grounds including the practice facility, pool area, and formal lawn.

This role ensures that these areas meet Donalda Club's high standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare tennis courts daily for member use, including leveling, topdressing, patching, lining, watering, rolling, and scarifying.
Perform regular tennis court maintenance duties, including light cleaning and replacement, waste removal, and court washroom cleaning.
Ensure the tidiness of the maintenance shed, bubble, and memberfacing grounds/racquet areas.
Work independently and maintain a high quality of work.
Learn to proactively address predictable seasonal changes in the position.
Seasonal setup of range mats along with regular cleaning and maintenance.
Coordinate and participate in the setup and takedown of the tennis bubble.
Perform regular maintenance of squash and pickleball courts, including daily and seasonal maintenance.
Repair minor issues with irrigation systems.
Perform grounds maintenance duties, including mowing and trimming clubhouse lawns, formal garden, pool area, range, and parking lot grounds, as well as edging, weeding, spraying, and fertilizing these areas.
Perform various maintenance duties around the club, including bunkers on the range, parking lot lights, trees on the clubhouse lawn, decorative fountains, etc.
Work closely with gardeners, Head Tennis Professional, and Golf Course and Grounds Manager to coordinate and find innovative methods to improve productivity and efficiency.
Operate, maintain, and repair the irrigation system when necessary.
Perform additional duties during the winter months, including aiding in snow removal, tree work, golf course furniture repair, etc.
Aid greens staff on the golf course when required.
Maintain an open and consistent dialogue with the Head Racquets Professional to ensure essential and regular communication.
Keep the grass areas surrounding the clubhouse garbagefree, maintained, and groomed to Donalda standards, including the parking lot.
Act as a selfstarter, identifying areas of improvement within the scope of the role and executing these initiatives independently.
Be proactive with regular maintenance practices daily, weekly, and yearly, in concert with the Head Racquets Professional.
Winter work includes plowing, hardware restoration, tree work, tennis bubble maintenance, and other related tasks.
Perform any additional duties as specified by the Golf Course and Grounds Manager.

Qualifications:

Willingness to learn how to maintain clay tennis courts.
Practical knowledge of maintenance equipment (sprinklers, hoses, etc.) is preferred but not required.
Ability to work early mornings and weekends.
Strong independent work ethic and attention to detail.
Proactive attitude towards seasonal maintenance.
Ability to repair minor irrigation issues.
Experience with grounds maintenance duties is an asset.
Effective communication skills and the ability to maintain regular dialogue with management.
