Job Description:

As the Cook, you will be responsible to preparation patient meals and perform general food preparation duties as assigned, while ensuring that safe work practices and sanitation standards meet or exceed those set by the Client, Health Department and Sodexo Canada


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of food including main entrees, soup, sides, baking of desserts, slicing of meat and additional prep as determined by management.
  • Preparation of texture modified recipes, including puree, minced, honey think, etc.
  • Proper training and use of equipment, specifically, ovens, meat slicer, Hobart mixer, and food processer.
  • Ensure that food is of quality and is cooked, cooled and stored following all HACCP guidelines and Sodexo standards.
  • Cleaning of equipment in a safe manner, specifically the Meat Slicer, Mixer Bowl, Food Processer, Knives, and Oven.
  • Able to work in a timely manner, follow recipes, have a good understanding of the menus and good communication skills.
  • Pass on any concerns you might have with Lead Cook, Supervisor or Manger.
  • Able and responsible to perform the job according to safe work practices by Following 3 Checks for Safety.
  • Always making sure you have all the proper PPE for the job at hand.
  • Learning how to properly use equipment, clean equipment and following all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Proper knowledge and use of knives.
  • Reporting all injuries and hazardous conditions to management immediately.
  • Supporting the Safety Program in the unit.
  • Other tasks, duties and assignments as directed by the supervisor, manager or lead cook.
  • Keep all information confidential.

Qualifications:


  • Cooks Papers
  • Food Safety Level 1 & 2 certification.
  • 12 years related experience in a food or prep environment.
  • English proficiency, verbal and written.
  • HACCP, WHMIS training.
  • Current vaccinations.
  • Have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
