GlobalStep localization department is hiring Japanese native speaker to edit video games content from English into Japanese living in Montreal, Quebec.

Your task as translator will be to provide translations which are accurate, linguistically correct, consistent with project documentation, complete and adapted to specific country standards.

Your task as editor will be to ensure that all materials are error-free and consistent with the project documentation.


Qualifications:


  • Degree in translation or linguistics or any other relevant combination of training and experience.
  • 1 to 5 years experience in translation/localization.
  • Proficiency in English and excellence in Japanese.
  • Proficiency in use of translation memory (MemoQ, Memsource, Trados and the like).
  • Sharp eye for spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax and spacing accuracy.
  • Flexibility: able to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Daily workload for Editing tasks: 8,000 to 9,000 words per day.
