THE ROLE

As the Manager, Fitness Program Delivery, you will be tasked with overseeing fitness programs and services and collaborating with key stakeholders from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and Personnel Support Programs (PSP) departments to empower fitness teams across the country.

Your role will involve developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-informed programs and services that aim to increase the operational and health-related fitness of the CAF.

To be successful in this position, you should have a strong background in program research, development, training, implementation, support, and evaluation.

You will be responsible for aligning national strategic goals with day-to-day program delivery on bases and wings. This includes advising Senior CAF and PSP leadership on policy, reporting, and strategies. You will also be responsible for providing support to field staff on policy, evaluation, and other related matters.


Other responsibilities will include supporting the training curriculum for PSP Fitness employees, preparing work plans, progress reports, and expenditure projections for areas of responsibility, and supervising the fitness employees on your team.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses**Bachelor degree in Fitness, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology and Exercise Science or a related discipline AND some years of relevant experience

Industry relevant certifications, as required

Current Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology Certified Personal Trainers (CSEP-CPT) qualification, an asset

In planning, developing, organizing and managing programs and projects
In budget administration
In personnel administration
In planning, organizing and managing deliveries of the program
In managing and negotiating contracts, as required
In conducting research and analysis of programs/interventions

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs are delivered by PSP on Bases, Wings and Units across Canada and in deployed operations. PSP delivers evidencebased programs, which contribute to the health and wellbeing of the military community and operational effectiveness of the CAF.
  • This position has an assigned location and may allow flexible work options such as remote or hybrid work but the employee must be able to report to the assigned work location at their own cost if required. Remote work may be required depending on health and safety considerations.
