Position overview


As a Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for advising the organization's leadership on human resources and labor relations strategies and on various aspects affecting the proper management of human resources within LFT.


Main responsibilities:

  • Review, evaluate and implement human resources and labor relations strategies, including policies, programs and procedures to meet the human resources needs of the LFT;
  • Provide information and advice to managers and employees on human resources, compensation, benefit plan and group contract policies.
  • Review, evaluate and implement policies, procedures and programs for staffing, selection and recruitment of new employees and ensure policy awareness.
  • Review and research with management, and the APLFT (staff association) where applicable, job descriptions and salary ranges, and competency assessment measures and systems;
  • Resolve conflicts through positive and professional mediation
  • Ensure workplace health and safety compliance;
  • Manage programs and maintain human resources information and related records management systems;
  • Coordinate employee performance evaluation program;
  • Coordinate employee assistance and support, occupational health, safety and wellness programs;
  • Manage benefits, and recommend changes or modifications to existing policies.

Expected skills and experienceBachelor's degree in human resources management or equivalent.- Very good knowledge of Canadian and Ontario labor laws- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in French and English- Sense of responsibility and good judgment- Good organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills- Leadership, dynamism and team spirit
