The

Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is a regulatory agency that reports to the Ministry of the Attorney General. The AGCO is responsible for regulating the alcohol, gaming, horseracing, and private cannabis retail sectors in Ontario, in accordance with the principles of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest.

The Corporate Affairs, Strategic Policy and Planning Division requires an experienced

Administrative Assistant to the Corporate Secretary and Chief Strategy Officer (CSCSO), and the Chair and Board of AGCO to provide confidential administrative support for the activities of the Chair, the Board Members and the Corporate Secretary and Chief Strategy Officer (CSCSO).


Additionally, in a confidential and politically acute manner, you will ensure the effective and efficient coordination and execution of activities supporting the work of the Chair of the Board, Members of the Board of Directors, CSCSO and the Senior Manager of Board Relations.

Upon request, you will also provide support to the Division's Senior Management and/or Chief Executive Officer's Office.


How do I qualify?:


  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) to deal tactfully and effectively with senior staff, stakeholders and the AGCO Board members.
  • A strong understanding of the AGCO's work as a regulator, main partners and stakeholders, their programs, activities, aims and objectives and their relation to the AGCO.
  • A strong understanding of the governance structure of the AGCO, including accountability practices and reporting processes and structures.
  • The ability to be resourceful in meeting and anticipating stakeholder and business needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multitask within a fastpaced environment.
  • The capability to work and plan strategically, while still being detailed oriented.
  • The ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
