About the Opportunity:


The Assistant Manager will report to the Manager of WZ Financial Analytics, who is responsible for overall financial support to the Continuing Care Program at NSH.

The Assistant Manager is responsible for supervision of staff executing the financial functions with respect to the programs described above.

The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing best practice processes in their team, following applicable legislation and organizational policy.

The Assistant Manager is responsible to ensure that policies are followed, service-level expectations are met, and that the Finance team is supported to deliver high quality financial services that are efficient and timely.

The Assistant Manager ensures payments are made on time, databases are up-to-date, financial reconciliations are completed in an accurate and timely way, and communication with the Continuing Care Program, clients and the Department of Seniors and LTC is clear and timely.

Under direction of the manager, the Assistant Manager is accountable to ensure that there is a high level of service delivery and communication with the Continuing Care Program, as required.

The Assistant Manager will be committed to a high standard of performance in supporting the NSHA strategic mission, vision and goals while ensuring accuracy and quality financial results with excellent customer service delivered provincially.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and progressive leadership experience.
  • Other certifications considered an asset
  • Minimum 57 years strong management and/or functional system experience and knowledge of financial service delivery and operations required
  • Possesses a solid understanding of accounting reconciliation processes, accounts receivable & accounts payable functions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of service standards and best practices, healthcare structures, environment and services
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, analytical and decisionmaking skills
  • Excellent collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Highly knowledgeable of SAP functionality or another large ERP system
  • Experience in engaging, mentoring, and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner to respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the organization
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain excellent customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships
  • Efficiently delegates the issues to the team
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $45.41 Hourly
