Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital
About the Position:
The role involves providing nursing care to psychiatric patients, autonomously and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Key responsibilities include:
Registered Psychiatric Nurses/Registered Nurses in the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit work closely with various team members, such as psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and community mental health professionals.
The Inpatient Mental Health and Substance Use program supports in-patients dealing with acute mental health issues. We focus on holistic wellness by educating patients on nutrition, exercise, medication, therapy, and relapse prevention strategies.
Collaboration with the Community Mental Health and Substance Use programs facilitates the transition back to the community.
We are seeking a self-directed, motivated, reliable, and flexible mental health-trained nurse (RN/RPN) who thrives in a team environment and is committed to ongoing professional development.

This position offers flexibility as a casual opportunity, where hours are not guaranteed and shifts may vary with short notice. Casual employees can apply for internal permanent and temporary positions within Interior Health.
Shifts may include day and night rotations from 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00.

Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, situated in Trail, BC, houses the Daly Pavilion Psychiatry Unit with 12 active beds supporting the ER and hospital for mental health and addiction clients.
