This position will be assigned a Fall/Winter rotation but teaching assignments may be changed by the Dean/Associate Dean and occur in any of the three semesters.
- Developing and delivering a wide variety of courses in our Office Administration Health Services Diploma Program
- Evaluating student progress / achievement
- Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Incorporating a variety of learning / teaching strategies and technologies to meet student needs
- Participating in portfolio / academic / campus and collegewide activities as required
- Participating in course / curriculum revision, course / program revision and renewal activities
- Developing alternative delivery strategies, and online course development and teaching, as required
- Detailed descriptions of responsibilities, are defined in the classification definition of professor in the Academic Collective Agreement
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor of Health Administration, Business, Science, or Bachelor degree in a closely related field of study
- Minimum of 5 years practical experience concentrated in Office Administration
- Health/Medical
- Experience in general practice and/or specialty OHIP billing with an understanding of the billing cycling, remittance advice reports and reconciliation of error reports
- Previous teaching experience at a postsecondary level and / or adult training experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problemsolving skills
- Proven ability to contribute to, and work in, a positive team environment and to foster the same in their students' commitment to lifelong learning
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including students, faculty, support staff, administrators and community stakeholders
- Advanced Skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to effectively integrate new technology into teaching and learning
Additional Asset / Preferred:
- MBA, MSc or Masters degree in a closely related field
- Demonstrated progression in a leadership and management capacity within an office administration working environment
- Direct Involvement with Interprofessional education related to health care and office administration health
- Experience with Health Records Management
- CHIM designation
- Experience with Health Informatics CPHIMS certification an asset.
- Community and or volunteerism contributions related to the field of Health Services /Office Administration
- Demonstrated use of current technologies to support student learning and management of grades (e.g. learning management systems, Student Information Systems, audience response tools)
- Experience with online course development and / or online teaching
- Experience in some or all of the following: universal design for learning, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, student success strategies
- The ability to source and or implement initiatives as they relate to the field of Health
- The ability to teach in more than one program area

Acceptable proof of education (degrees, credentials) from recognized post-secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of the selection process.
