As ATB's next Data Scientist in the risk model team, you will be responsible for executing existing expected loss models, implementing new models and model monitoring frameworks and building statistical models.

In addition, the risk model team is currently converting from one platform (SAS) to another (Google Cloud/Python), which this role will aid the conversion process as one of the primary users of the code.

The Data Scientist designs, develops and deploys ML/AI algorithms to analyze data and optimize team or organizational decision making.


Responsibilities:


  • Researches and analyzes data to find deep relations within data to be used in the ML/AI algorithms
  • Works across multidisciplinary teams to translate business needs into testable hypotheses and then design experiments to test said hypotheses
  • Collaborates with other members of the Data team to support investigation across a variety of topics
  • Executes business as usual code processes for reporting expected loss and updating required data
  • Implements model performance frameworks
  • Update and document existing models to current best practices

Requirements:


Accreditations:

  • Degree in data science, computer science, economics, statistics or related field
  • Understanding of SQLbased technologies (e.g PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms (Regressions, NN, Decision Forests, etc)

Core Technical Skills:

  • Data science ability to extract insights from data using principles of statistics, data wrangling, software engineering, basic programming, etc.
  • Machine learning, AI, and algorithm design
  • Programming & model construction
  • Programming in languages for data science (Python, SAS)
  • Data analytics skills including data mining and prescriptive, predictive, descriptive and diagnostic analytics
  • Experience with data topics including data engineering, data cleansing, curation, harmonization and packaging, and data reporting visualization & dashboarding tools
  • Development and coding skills including: modular coding & pipeline automation, source code management (Gitlab), and development tools

Interpersonal and Leadership Skills:

  • Written and verbal communication
