    :

    Reporting to the Senior Capital Projects Estimator, you will be part of the Infrastructure department. You will primarily contribute to the development of various mining projects ranging from PEA to PFS levels, both for underground and open-pit operations, located in various regions and countries where AEM is present. The quality of capital estimates is crucial throughout all stages, whether for studies and various innovation or construction projects. This role will enable the team to maintain excellent rigor in its processes, always using industry best practices, and delivering mandates more efficiently.

    Over time, you will become a reference in capital estimation and can leverage your knowledge in various types of projects such as ore processing plants, water treatment plants, crushing facilities, garages, pumping networks, hoisting systems, fixed mining equipment, energy systems, buildings, etc. As AEM always aims to stay at the forefront of technology, you may also work on mandates related to innovation projects. You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct and the environment.

  • Evaluating capital investment costs for AEM's mining infrastructure across various projects within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Drafting study reports for the capital cost section (PEA, PFS, and ;
  • Presenting results to the study manager and designated individuals for technical reviews;
  • Preparing lists of materials, labor, and equipment required for each project;
  • Preparing and managing price requests related to submissions for equipment or mining infrastructure (surface and underground) in each construction discipline;
  • Compiling and maintaining directories of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors;
  • Creating a list of bidders for each project;
  • Analyzing submissions and issuing recommendations;
  • Acting as the contact person with suppliers and subcontractors to coordinate work and obtain various information (technical details of products, prices, availability, and delivery dates);
  • Reviewing plans for each construction discipline;
  • Evaluating required quantities based on plans and specifications;
  • Comparing different possible solutions using technical studies presenting advantages and disadvantages, costs, and respective schedules;
  • Preparing progress reports for projects under your responsibility;
  • Developing the estimation plan for each project;
  • Updating the cost database;
  • Participating in various meetings of the Infrastructure and Technical Services department.
  • WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Hold a College Diploma (DEC) in cost estimating, mechanical and/or electrical engineering, a Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, or any other relevant training;
  • Possess relevant experience in the mining industry, including a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in multidisciplinary heavy construction estimation;
  • Have knowledge of various construction trades (civil, concrete, structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) and construction standards in various Canadian provinces and countries;
  • Demonstrate excellent priority management skills and the ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Exhibit proficiency in reading plans and managing costs;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure periodic follow-ups;
  • Have strong teamwork and collaboration skills;
  • Demonstrate analytical skills;
  • Have a good understanding of software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, MS Project, etc.
  • Proficiency in the use of the French language (spoken and written);
  • Proficiency in the use of the English language as you will be working in collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites where English is the primary language.
