Main Requiremnent:
Dispatch or supervisor level experience is an asset.
Must have DZ or AZ license.
What you will be doing:
- Oversee the daytoday operation of the distribution operations including warehouse and driver personnel for agency, owner operators, and employees.
- Provides leadership to drivers and dispatcher(s) such as performance management (i.e., corrective action, coaching and counselling, performance assessment, training, and compliance). A critical and important element of this position.
- Onboarding owner operators and agency staff to ensure they are acquainted with process and procedures.
- Plans and assigns routes to drivers and schedules warehouse personnel according to workload demands. This includes providing drivers with route information, monitoring and following up on any delivery challenges/delays, and ensures that all deliveries are on time and accurate through our dispatch software.
- Oversee and manages POD to ensure quality and control management.
- Upholds a culture of safety through providing a safe and healthy work environment through the use established standards and procedures, complying with safety regulations. Serves as an active member of the Health and Safety Committee.
- Plays an integral role in managing owner operator relationships and escalating to senior manager as required, which includes ensuring owner operators are adhering to terms of contract for service agreement.
- Handles escalated customer concerns/questions/inquiries as required to ensure timely response and corrective action.
- Investigates causes of lost and/or damaged shipments and implement corrective action.
- Collaborates with other teams to initiate, create, and implement processes and procedures to improve overall operational efficiencies, costs, and service.
- Works harmoniously with other departments as required to facilitate sharing resources and back up support for one another, as needed.
- Ensures all requirements of the health and safety program are adhered to by providing general and job specific health and safety training and leading by example.
- Assists with Developing warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping workflows.
- Participates in other functions required by the business.
What we are looking for:
- Three years of supervisory / _
leadership experience_ in Operations or Logistics Management - Postsecondary in logistics, supply chain management or business administration
- Experience with MHE and ability to train staff
- Knowledge of warehouse software platforms and MS Office proficiency with Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Current and valid driver's license Class DZ
- Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and MOT.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario FSA's
- Knowledge of GPS systems and geography with a strong knowledge of Downtown Toronto / GTA
