Role:

As a School Administrative Assistant, you are the first line of communication and responsible for providing excellent customer service to all students, staff and parents.

Supervision Received and Given:

This position will be under the direct supervision of the school principal.

Preferred Qualifications:

Grade 12 required
Business Administration Certificate and or relevant experience an asset
Ability to speak Russian and/or German is an asset
Demonstrated skills in the use of office equipment
Proven typing skills and an excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal skills in relating to students, staff and the public
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
Ability to relate to the school community and community value base

Garden Valley Collegiate is a grades 9-12 high school that is located on Main Street in the city of Winkler. We have an estimated student population of 656 for the 2023/2024 school year, a teaching staff of almost 50 and a support staff of 25. GVC is a thriving high school learning community that offers a variety of programs in academics, fine arts, athletics and technology.

Salary and Benefits:

The compensation package for this position is in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Garden Valley School Division and the Education, Service and Health Care Union, Local No.

306 Affiliated with the Christian Labour Association of Canada for School Administrative Assistants. Salary Range
($ $23.08).
