Purpose of Role
Lynn-Rose School Adventure Quest is an Academic Day Summer Camp Program for kids ages 4-12.

At Adventure Quest, we believe education is an ongoing year-round activity, which brings fulfillment to students' development.

We keep the joy of learning and exploration very much alive during the summer months (July and August), and we offer several summer programs that are tailored for different age groups and academic needs.


Our camp helps students reach ahead and gives them a peek at the academics of the upcoming grade as well as provides an environment for young children to play various camp activities such as games, crafts, special events and field trips.

Responsibilities of the job include:


  • Counsellors (along with other team counsellors) are responsible for a group of 15 to 20 children on a daily basis.
  • Ensure children's safety at all times.
  • Model constructive participation in all daily activities.
  • Use group management skills to engage all children in daily activities.
  • Work closely with the Camp Director and Head Counsellor to ensure implementation of academic planning.
  • Plan/organize activities that give children the opportunity to express themselves creatively.
  • Plan/organize (with support) activities that are recreational and educational (consisting of Language, Math Science, Arts and Crafts, Sports, Outdoor Activities, etc.).

  • Able to problem solve effectively.

Other Qualifications:


  • Counsellors must be at least 1630 years of age.
  • All Counsellors must participate in training before camp begins.
  • First Aid/ CPR Certification must be obtained before the start of camp.
  • Must have childcare experience / be pursuing a degree in Education/Child and Youth Care/Children's Studies.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
