We are looking for a Quality Co-ordinator to join our Team in Aurora, Ontario.


Job Summary:

Develop and support quality and product safety. The position will align current local processes with corporate standards and optimize for the location.

It will also have responsibility for ensuring that all quality requirements including product safety are recorded, monitored, and analyzed in order to optimize process and production efficiencies and to ensure adherence to all customer specifications.

Manage and execute complaint system including facilitation or investigations, data collection, and data review.


Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:


  • Engage associates to build and maintain an integrated Quality and Food Safety Culture
  • Update quality metrics and reports that are distributed to departments and the broader organization
  • Manage the Integrated Pest Management Program
  • Manage quality database and analyze data for optimizing production efficiencies and manufacturing specifications.
  • Key contributor and facilitator of formal Root Cause & Corrective Action process, including responses to customers and internal/manufacturing issues with Corrective Action Plans
  • Prepare for customer and compliance audits
  • Walk the plant floor interacting with Operators, Assistants and Supervision to validate performance and documentation required production testing for all pieces of equipment and products.
  • Effectively communicate with Supervisors and employees on the shift regarding testing, rejections, holds, Quality and Food Safety training etc.
  • Create and send Customer Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) or Certificates of Compliance (CoCs) as needed.
  • Document Internal Production Holds/Rejections
  • Work through Customer/Product Returns as necessary.
  • Create and post Quality Alerts
  • Coordinate with corporate, customers, and suppliers as needed regarding quality issues.
  • Ensure conformance to specification requirements
  • Participate/contribute in Quality Team meetings
  • Partner effectively with leadership to drive quality awareness and adherence to company policies; manage site system for documentation
  • Compliance to the Food Safety Standard Requirements
  • Processing of customer returned goods, control nonconforming products
  • Comply with all general Companywide standard operating procedures (SOP's) and any job or department specific SOP's.
  • Must work within productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
  • Special Projects & other duties as necessary

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 35 years' experience in packaging, food or pharmaceutical field in a quality function.
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to multitask
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proactive and innovative with a strong will to succeed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of information to Company and Federal standards.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Must be dependable and work within Company conduct standards; consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
  • Experience dealing with customers and suppliers

Physical Demands:


  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time. (consistently)
  • Must be able to move and lift up to 40 lbs. (intermittently)
