    Role:
    Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) - Azure SQL

    Location:
    Mississauga, ON (3 times per week in office)
    Working Hours : 7:30 am - 3:30 pm EST Monday-Friday

    Salary:
    up to $120,000 CAD base annually + benefits (no bonus structure offered)

    Certifications such as Microsoft
    Certified:

    Azure Database Administrator Associate or Microsoft

    Certified:
    Data Management and Analytics (SQL Server).

    • DevOps experience
    • Azure Synapse, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and MySQL are a plus.
    Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field

    • A minimum of_ eight (8) years of experience in an Enterprise Windows environment and proficiency with currently supported editions of Microsoft SQL Server _
    • Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL query language.
    • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Azure
    • Experience of Azure PaaS SQL
    -_ Experience with performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization. _

    • Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures, disaster recovery planning, and high
    Ability to troubleshoot database-related issues and perform root cause analysis.

    • Advanced knowledge of PowerShell working with database environments
    • Collaborate with application developers and system architects to design and implement efficient and scalable database structures.
    • Create and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
    • Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances, including applying patches and service
    Configure database settings and options to optimize performance and ensure security.

    • Monitor database performance using builtin tools and thirdparty monitoring solutions.
    • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through query optimization, indexing strategies,
    and server configuration adjustments.

    • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
    • Perform regular backups, test restores, and maintain backup integrity.
    • Implement and enforce security policies and access controls to protect sensitive data.
    • Diagnose and resolve databaserelated issues, including connectivity problems, performance
    degradation, and data corruption.

    • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to mitigate future incidents.
    • Estimate future database growth and plan for scalability requirements.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and processes.
    • Generate reports on database performance, availability, and security compliance.
