Purpose:


Responsibilities:
Serve as trusted, strategic finance partner to Chemetics president.

  • Deliver consistent, accurate & timely financial information to all key stakeholders for decision making.
  • Provide financial insight and recommendations in daytoday operations.
  • Liaise with project accounting, sales, and operations teams to prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts for business.
  • Report on variations and trends from forecasts and investigate root cause.
  • Prepare monthly financial results and present quarterly business reviews.
  • Oversee and maintain business reporting including financial results, inventory trends, working capital and project reports.
  • Ensure all internal and external standards and regulations are met.
  • Ensure full compliance with external and internal audits.
  • Oversee the company's hedge agreements to manage FX risk and ensure hedge standards are followed.
  • Consult with tax and transfer pricing groups to ensure project setup structures and intercompany contracts are recorded in accordance with standards.
  • Ensure fixed assets, capital in progress and inventory and are recorded and reported accurately.
  • Accountable for accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provides strategic analysis related to use of inventory and working capital.
  • Supports project accounting staff with complexities such as intercompany agreements, project structures and interpreting contract terms.
  • Provides guidance, standards, and training to project accountants on commercial finance and in particular letters of credits, export valuations and incoterms.
  • Support, develop and mentor finance group and looks for opportunities for staff to grow in their careers.
  • Oversee the finance activities in Moroccan entity managed by business and consult with local accounting firm to ensure financial compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee payroll activities for unionized fabrication shop in Ontario.
  • Oversee reporting and compliance of pension plan.

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:


  • Approximately 1015 years of related experience, such as business partnering or management with ability to deliver improved analytics to support management decisions.
  • Strong commercial acumen and technical, practical and leadership experience in the relevant discipline and similar industry.
  • Experience leading a team, motivational leadership style, effective communication skills and ability to develop a highperformance culture.
  • Welldeveloped analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret and effectively communicate business and technical requirements to a broad audience of stakeholders in various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to flex between strong eye for detail and recognizing the bigger picture leveraging business acumen and pragmatism.
  • Ability to set priorities, develop procedures, work practices, effectively manage change and assist others to adapt to change.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:


Required:


  • Accounting degree, ideally with postgraduate qualification such as CA/ CPA.
