JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Senior Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist is responsible for providing HR operations support and guidance to a pre-determined business unit, in this case, specifically our Guelph Distribution site and satellite warehouse branches.

Guelph ON () _Note: _in-warehouse is required 3 days per week (2 days WFH), with some weeks requiring more in-person presence_
Reports to:
Senior Director, Human Resources
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as trusted counsel for all management on HRrelated matters in designated HRrelated matters
- Act as point of contact for employees on all HR related matters, including benefits, workers compensation and disability benefits, policies, etc.
- Assist with the recruitment of new employees when required, including the job requisition and job description development process as necessary
- Support managers with performance matters, including support on performance management program, implementation of PIPs as required, ensuring coaching and feedback is given regularly and providing trusted counsel when needed
- Execute on required HRonboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new employees, including engaging with IT and Marketing, and assisting managers with the day planning as necessary
- Executes on terminations when necessary, ensuring the proper prediligence (performance management and communication) has been followed, and guides manager through proper process
- Ensures all onboarding and off boarding paperwork/process is handled properly, working proactively with payroll, benefits and IT
- Executes on HR projects as required such as Employee Appreciation Week, Health & Safety initiatives, policy updates, Succession Planning, departmentspecific T&D, M&A, etc.
- Administer HRIS portal (updating job titles, job descriptions, training records, performance evaluations)
- Complete other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- 34 years HR experience preferred
- Experience in M&A considered an asset
- Bilingual an asset
- University degree or HR diploma
- CHRP/CHRL considered an asset an asset
- Travel across Canada is required throughout the year(20% of time)
