Job Description:
The Distribution Centre Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a high level of service by optimizing the efficiency of our operations and service to our customers while respecting the budgets for distribution and inventory maintenance.
Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager, the supervisor will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing, in a timely manner, the daily activities of given area(s) (picking, receiving, shelving, shipping, returns, inventory control...) and implementing programs that ensure the needs of all functions within that area(s) are met (productivity, accuracy, training, safety, security and housekeeping).
The incumbent will assume, among others, the following responsibilities:ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, supervise and control all warehouse activities related to a specific area(s) in order to meet or exceed Distribution Center (DC) objectives.
- Maintain/exceed performance metrics (
KPI:
productivity, quality, inventory level, service level,...) for assigned area(s).
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in accordance with governmental regulations.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing training of existing employees to ensure quality and productivity goals are met or exceeded including regular team meetings with employees
- Ensure all policies and procedures are met.
- Identify, through a proactive approach, potential costsaving and efficiency gain opportunities to improve overall site operating metrics.
- Communicate with team members regarding operational issues providing effective feedback.
- Manage employees discipline
- Liaise with all internal depts. as required.
- Develop and maintain a high level of employee engagement to serving customers.
- Act as a change management leader and as a coach with employees by encouraging continuous improvement and supporting an inclusive work environment
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or higher in Logistics, Business Administration or Operations;
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in a similar role in a distribution environment;
- Experience and strong abilities with warehouse management system (WMS), RF Units, ERP (SAP) and experience in implementing new processes;
- Ability to adapt and lead in a constantly changing environment and act as a change management leader;
- Capacity to work under pressure for meeting customer needs;
- Strong leadership skills, which include the ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team;
- Strong organizational, planning and cost control skills
- Strong influencer and communication skills both written and verbal;
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel;
- Experience in wholesale distribution and/or automotive industry.
