    Brown and Caldwell, a North American environmental engineering firm, has an exciting CO-OP internship opportunity (beginning in May or September) in our Burnaby, British Columbia office for a self-motivated Engineering Intern with 0 to 3 years of experience to work on projects related to water and wastewater treatment. Selected candidate will be required to come into the Burnaby office at least three days a week and have the option of working remotely two days a week.

    Detailed Description:

  • Work closely with project managers and other team members to execute work involving conventional types of civil, environmental, mechanical and/or chemical engineering principles and other related activities for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with the preparation of calculations, technical memoranda, reports, presentations, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents.
  • Perform data entry, analysis, and visualization.
  • Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications as part of engineering services during construction.
  • Participate in field work, as needed for projects.
  • Successfully manage and deliver assignments on time.
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (drafters, designers, and other engineers).
  • Adhere to Brown and Caldwell's quality assurance/quality control process.
  • Desired Skills and Experience: To qualify for an internship, you must be: Enrolled in a full-time program (nine credit hours per semester) seeking a bachelor's degree in Chemical/Civil/Mechanical/Environmental/Electrical or related engineering field required; you also must be in good standing and carry an overall GPA of least in your core curriculum, as well as a minimum overall GPA of Candidate must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Excellent communication skills and experience working in a team environment.Strong technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts.Self-starter, results-oriented, and ability to work under tight deadlines.Ability and willingness to perform field work at various sites.Proficiency in standard software including MS Office, Outlook, Bluebeam, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems.Possess a valid driver's license/good driving record.
  • Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
