ABOUT THE ROLE

This position is responsible for administering and monitoring the operational and security stability of the enterprise infrastructure, servers, computer systems, and networks.

The primary focus of this role is to implement and manage security measures that protect the organization's sensitive information, data, and resources from unauthorized access, misuse, or loss.

Additionally, this position involves working closely with internal teams to ensure effective security practices throughout the organization.


Responsibilities:


  • Communication
  • Communicate security and system trends, issues and outages to management and colleagues.
  • Ensures ongoing communication with internal and external partners regarding security and system updates and any outstanding issues.
  • Process Improvement
  • Research and recommend new technologies to reduce security risk and improve business system requirements and efficiencies.
  • Analyze and implement server and network infrastructures to enhance system functionality, stability, and security.
  • Project/Task Management
  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization's security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, encryption mechanisms, and other security tools.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights to ensure that only authorized individuals can access the organization's systems and data. This involves creating and managing user accounts, enforcing strong password policies, and implementing multifactor authentication where necessary.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify potential weaknesses in the systems.
  • Perform patch management to ensure that software and systems are up to date with the latest security patches and updates.
  • Develop and implement incident response plans to handle security breaches, unauthorized access attempts, or other security incidents.
  • Investigate security breaches, analyze root causes, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and prevent future incidents.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor system logs, network traffic, and security event alerts to identify and respond to potential security incidents promptly.
  • Conduct security awareness training sessions and provide guidance to employees on best practices for information security, including safe browsing, social engineering awareness, and handling of sensitive data.
  • Perform backups and ensure recoverability of serves.
  • Provide server and network systems support by addressing issues, questions and problems.
  • Make timely and decisive decisions, as required to ensure that critical activities are accomplished in a timely manner.
  • Manage system configuration and change control of servers and network, as required.
  • Participate in the installation of systems to assist in meeting project times.

  • Ensure complex security problems are resolved in a timely manner and critical computers are returning to the business.
  • Ensure the cause of the problem is identified, and plans are executed to ensure it will not reoccur.

  • Perform analysis on new security technology features versus requirements, software release upgrades feature that impact to our current system usage, and how to use technology to solve business issues and/or initiatives.
  • Promotes and works to maintain workplace wellness, health and safety, through active compliance with all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as required.
Education & Skills

  • Experience performing security audits, identifying vulnerabilites, and implementing solutions
years' experience working in a security administrator role
