Maintenance Foreman

Rate of Pay:
$ $37.64

The maintenance foreman used a trauma-informed framework to provide maintenance and

custodial workforce planning and support to the Housing & Development Department. This position with focus on

optimizing staff in daily assignments, planning for routine preventative maintenance on equipment and buildings and
align contractor coverage as needed.

Qualifications:
Building Maintenance Certificate or Certificate in a related field. Minimum two (2) years
maintenance and supervision experience, preferably in the social service sector.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A Clear Criminal Record, and valid BC drivers
license with safe driving record is required.

Experience/Skills:

Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing,
Familiar with janitorial equipment,
Works independently and as a team member, is able to adhere to tight deadlines and responds quickly to changing

situations,

Capable of setting and meeting planned goals and deadlines,
Flexibility to meet ongoing department requirements, including oncall responsibilities,
Professional and courteous with a 'cando attitude',
Well developed planning, organizing, and administrative skills, including the use of Word, Outlook, and Excel,
Valid BC Drivers License with a safe driving record and access to a reliable vehicle,
Having basic knowledge of construction and repairs; structural integrity, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire

safety,

Other duties as required.

Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday, 8am-430pm, 80 hours bi-weekly. (Rotating emergency after hour call-out.)
