- Conduct STBBI testing and health teaching including Hepatitis C, HIV and Syphilis point of care testing, dried blood spot and phlebotomy services
- Community communicable disease management including the completion of STBBI case management, treatment referrals, follow up and relevant contact tracing
- Provide STBBI health promotion and prevention programming through community education sessions, events, and activities
- Development and distribution of culturally safe and trauma informed harm reduction and STBBI prevention resources through community mail out
- Provide STBBI/sexual health school-based education sessions in collaboration with Lakeview School and in accordance with the education curriculum
- Utilization of Mobile Clinic Van to provide community health and STBBI nursing outreach services to high-risk community members including but not limited to STBBI testing, phlebotomy services, immunizations, physical assessments, wound care, footcare, pregnancy testing, and access to telemedicine.
- Provide nursing services to clients of the Wellness Recovery Program (Addiction Medicine Clinic), assessments, medication administration and STBBI testing and management.
- Support with the expansion of harm reduction program including needle exchange program, distribution of safe injection, safe shorting, safe inhalation, and naloxone kits
- Provide appropriate referrals and health care provider consultation as required
- Participate in ongoing professional development to ensure skills and knowledge are current and relevant to position
- Completion of all relevant community health forms, assessment tools and medical record documentation as per best practice guidelines
- Provide relief nursing services to the Community Health program as needed and participate in weekend rotation to provide essential home & community care.
- Previous work experience in First Nation Community Health and/or Mental Health and Addiction nursing would be an asset
- Baccalaureate degree or diploma in Nursing (Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse)
- Valid and current registration with and member in good standing with the Registered/Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO/RPNAO) and the Colleges of Nurses in Ontario (CNO)
- Valid HCP CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Valid Ontario Driver's License and own transportation
- Must have knowledge and/or experience with the Anishnaawbe culture, history and customs
- Understanding and fluency in Anishnaabemowin would be an asset or must be a willing to learn

The STBBI Nurse Coordinator works under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor.
Position Summary
The Sexually Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infections (STBBI) Nurse Coordinator will provide a comprehensive outreach based STBBI, harm reduction and addiction program to M'Chigeeng community members. The STBBI Nurse Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Community Health and Mental Health & Addiction programs to provide culturally safe STBBI prevention, testing, education, case management and follow up, harm reduction and addiction nursing services.
Essential Functions
An active member of the Health Services team in the delivery of a comprehensive Community Outreach Based STBBI Program compromised of the following activities:
