NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION:
REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE - OPERATING ROOM
Stratford and Clinton sites
Regular Part-time

REPORTS TO:
Manager, Surgical Services

DATE REQUIRED:
As soon as possible

SALARY:
$29.98 to $31.79 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current Registration and Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
Operating Room Nurse Certificate from a recognized program
Appropriate added nursing skills, i.e., medication, d/c IV, catheterization
Asepsis Course, CPR
Knowledge of surgical equipment/instruments/ procedures
Two years recent operating room (perioperative) experience preferred

ABILITIES:

Ability to return to work within 20 minutes when on standby /oncall
Ability to plan and organize effectively
Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency
Ability to work as a team member
Ability to work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing continuing education
