Western Communications staff seek to enhance, promote and protect the reputation of the university.
Responsibilities:
Western Communications is seeking an individual to support with the preparation for the University's new digital experience.
With a refreshed digital brand experience strategy on the horizon, we are seeking a student who is keen to take on a variety of tasks across the spectrum of digital.
Responsibilities:
- Research and recommend storage and categorization best practices for a new digital asset management software (DAM) and YouTube
- Find and organize video, photo and graphic content and assets
- Tag, flag, and categorize core brand assets and materials in a digital asset management system (DAM)
- Organize and update Google Analytics tags across University web properties
- Work collaboratively to assist the Communications team in achieving priority goals as they arise
Requirements:
Education
Minimum Required:
- Current student or recent graduate with an interest or background in digital communications
- Studying or graduated from a program in IT, computer science, data management, media, communications, marketing, digital media or a related discipline
Preferred Experience:
- 1 year of experience working with various content management systems
- Past CMS or social media experience for a brand, club, or organization considered an asset
- Design skills or training in Canva or Adobe Suite considered an asset
- Familiarity with digital communication tools including website and graphic design principles
- Passionate about learning about the field of UX, web design, web development, digital asset management, multimedia management, or marketing
- Highly organized and attentive to detail
- Attention to detail and proofreading abilities
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- Verbal communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
- Possess a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
