Who are we searching for?

We are looking for a full-time Lab Technician for a 6 month contract to join our busy Future Transfer team It is for our evening shift running 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m._

Job Duties_**:

Undertaking various types of laboratory testing methods of a technical nature, ensuring that SOP's are being followed
Sensitive equipment handling for analyzing samples and interpreting the results
Record all data and results in specified formats
Maintaining equipment record and daily logbooks
Assist in ordering laboratory supplies and maintaining and calibrating the equipment as required
Maintain an orderly and clean laboratory environment by following all safety regulations and company procedures
Other duties related to product QA testing and laboratory operations as required

Required Knowledge:_

College Diploma or University Degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry or Lab Technician Program**:
**post graduate degree will be given preference
Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory and/ or industrial environment
Knowledge of laboratory QA/QC programs
Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and principles as well as being comfortable handling potentially dangerous substances including corrosive or flammable chemicals
Experience in laboratory instruments like Gas chromatography, Liquid chromatography, analytical balance, pH meter etc. will be an asset
Must be able to interpret standard operating protocols (SOPs)
Must be able to perform sampling, analyses and various tests following the SOPs with minimum supervision
Must have excellent attention to detail, and an analytical mindset
Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong mathematical knowledge will be an asset
Experience in MS office suites, especially in MS Excel, is required
Must be able to prioritize workloads to meet the deadlines set by the clients; in addition, must be a team player, a proactive and trustworthy person and able to multitask
Must be able to lift at least 15 lbs. at times
Must be able to work safely and follow all the Company's policies and procedures
Valid driver's license will be working between two sites

The job duties of this position are primarily performed in both a busy plant facility as well as a laboratory setting
May be required to work various shift times
May be required to stand for long periods of time
