Description

Wendell Farquhar is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Lead Hand in Elliot Lake, Ontario.

This is a full-time year-round position available that will require a high level of motivation, professionalism and independence.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide leadership and direction to crew to meet quality and production standards.
Coordinate equipment, labour and trucking as assigned by supervisor.
Responsible for dispatching and operating winter snow removal operations
Review contract drawings and plans to ensure specifications are followed.
Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Display professionalism toward our company and customers.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Assume all duties of the supervisor in his or her absence.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Valid G Driver's License is required.
High school diploma or equivalent is an asset.
5 years experience in the civil construction field
Experience in a management position is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to plan construction projects by studying plans, coordinating with Project Superintendent, Project Manager and Logistics Coordinator.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and scopes of work.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, Human Resources policies
Knowledge of computer and tablet use.
