Position Summary:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide information, advice and guidance on the preparation of proposals and on the interpretation of funding/regulatory agencies rules and regulations, and University policies and procedures.
  • Support Neuro Director of Administration & Operations, in preparing and providing information, key performance indicators, and reports to government agencies and others to ensure policies and guidelines are met.
  • Supervise a team of Administrative Coordinators who support the Neuro Research Community. Monitor and manage workloads and workflow
  • Evaluate work processes, develop and adopt common best practices. Create standardized filing conventions and other tools to facilitate collaboration and backup.
  • Maintain an open channel of communication with the researcher community on topics that impact the service they receive from their Administrative Coordinators. Reinforce the role of the Administrative Coordinator with the research community and respond to their enquiries regarding their research/administrative needs. Collaborate with the Neuro administrative team to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Continually monitor and evaluate the administrative support to researchers. Determine adequate administrative coverage throughout the Institute, recommend and implement changes as required.
  • Collaborate with other Neuro managers and the Neuro Director of Administration & Operations to ensure clarity and alignment on business processes that impact the Administrative Coordinators and other teams.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and new initiatives that support the mandate and strategic direction of the Neuro.
  • Analyze administrative problems, determine course of action, and provide advice on problem resolution.
  • Participate in the hiring processes for new lab personnel, Research assistants, Postdoctoral Researcher, graduate and undergraduate research trainees
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Knowledge of French and English:_ _McGill University is an Englishlanguage university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level _4 _on a scale of 04._

Annual Salary:
(MPEX Grade 05) $69, $86, $104,150.00
