The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) is a self-regulating, not-for-profit organization governed by the_Architects Act_, a statute of the Government of Ontario.

Its principal object is to regulate the practice of architecture in the public interest.

Position Summary


Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications Specialist produces and implements content for the OAA's general programs and special projects.

The Communications Specialist is responsible for the Visual Identity, Media Relations, and Member Outreach Programs, ensuring communication strategies are applied and monitored across the breadth of the OAA's activities.


Responsibilities:


  • Assistance with media releases and media kit
  • Assistance with project management and scheduling for internal or memberfacing communication initiatives
  • Research, preparation, writing, and editing of reports, briefs, presentations, speeches, and correspondence
  • Support with social media and website content
  • Design, production, and coordination of communication vehicles

Qualifications:


  • Degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, graphic design, or architecture
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and flexible
  • Superior written and oral communication
  • Ability to work in a tightknit group while still maintaining an independent workload
  • Proficient in graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite/Creative Cloud) and MS Office

Location & Hours
OAA Headquarters at 111 Moatfield Drive in Toronto (Leslie & 401 area)

Office hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
