JOB DESCRIPTION:
Compounding lab technician to assist with the technical aspects and day-to-day functioning of the compounding lab.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow proprietary formulations to compound prescriptions accurately, efficiently, and safely (sterile and nonsterile compounding).
- Complete facility and equipment cleaning, maintenance, and monitoring tasks diligently.
- Monitor and prepare orders for product and supply inventories.
- Handle, receive, unpack, store, and dispose of products and supplies appropriately.
- Perform and record various quality control activities relating to final preparations, personnel technique, and facility and equipment operation.
- Correctly operate, use, and calibrate lab equipment, materials, and automated instruments.
- Have a strong command of pharmaceutical calculations required for compounding.
- Complete all lab documentation as required.
- Accurately weigh, measure, and mix raw material ingredients.
- Prepare labels, packages, and unit dose drugs in accordance with the dispensing order.
- Know and adhere to all lab safety protocols.
- Address and solve problems that affect and improve lab functioning.
- Complete all duties within specified timelines by prioritizing tasks, communicating well with team members, and managing time efficiently.
- Work cooperatively and respectfully with fellow employees, supervisors, and management.
- Assist in other areas of the pharmacy as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in a retail pharmacy is an asset.
- Experience in a compounding lab is an asset.
- Experience working with Kroll software is an asset.
- Proficient in math and basic science.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Professional, selfmotivated individual with a team player attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both team members and customers.
- Strong organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work under mínimal supervision.
- Flexible work hours (some evenings and weekends).
