Role Overview:
The Tax Analyst is a member of the Fund Treasurer's Office and reports to the Director, Fund Tax.

This role will assist all members of the fund tax team, especially the Fund Tax Managers, with responsibilities including the review of fund distributions, tax returns and other compliance requirements, and the support of special projects and key strategic initiatives of the organization.

What You Will Do:
Tax Compliance and Fund Administration

Assist with the review of monthly, quarterly, and annual distribution calculation
Assist with the review of T3 Trust Income Tax Returns
Assist with audits and correspondence with foreign tax agents

Fund Tax Operations

Prepare materiality analysis for applicable corporate action reviews
Review fund facts for distribution related language and coordinate with project team to ensure required changes are made
Assist with maintaining the distribution review tool

Ad hoc Special Projects

Assist with nonroutine projects and provide tax supports as they arise

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree ideally in accounting/finance or equivalent,
2+ years of relevant experience in tax related role
Public accounting tax experience and/or fund industry experience is an asset

The Expertise You Bring:

Good knowledge of tax compliance and tax return preparation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to analyze information; present issues to the Director and Tax Managers; handle projects/priorities at the same time under time constraints
A motivated and 'eager to learn' attitude
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Interest in expanding general tax knowledge with a focus in Asset Management Industry
Advanced MS Excel skills
Ability to work in a team as well as independently in a fast paced environment
