    Position Overview

    As a member of the Mobile Maintenance Team, the Planner will report to the Planning Team Lead and work two (2) weeks on, two (2) weeks off rotation at the Ekati mine site. The Planner will plan and schedule maintenance work in the area of responsibility and ensure that the backlog of maintenance work is prioritized and managed accordingly.

    Job Duties/Responsibilities

    • Responsible for processing approved notifications into work orders and planning resources required for non-emergency work;
    • Accountable for scoping cost and resource requirements for work and projects;
    • Responsible for reviewing available capacities for upcoming schedule periods with Team Leaders and updating resource work center capacities;
    • Responsible for scheduling planned work orders into the schedule period while using work order priorities to determine the schedule sequence;
    • Monitor services and materials for availability in the relevant schedule period;
    • Create purchase requisitions and complete inventory request forms;
    • Release work orders and manage "forward workload" to ensure future work is in correct weekly reference.

    Education/Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience, preferably in a mining or industrial environment;
    • Engineering or Journeyperson certificate in a relevant field is desirable;
    • 3-5 years' SAP planning experience required;
    • SAP/Prometheus scheduling tool experience would be considered an asset;
    • Experience and knowledge of time and risk management;
    • Experience and knowledge concerning Work Breakdown Structure and Critical Path Management;
    • Experience in Planning for heavy duty mobile mining equipment;
    • Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and time lines;
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
    • Ability to produce timely and high-quality documentation.
    • Experience working in a fast past environment with shifting priorities.

    The Company provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points.
