The Opportunity:
The Risk Manager is part of the Risk Management team and reports to the Director of Risk Management.

As part of the Risk Management team, you will support the Company's operating units in risk identification and mitigate financial risks within the Company using derivative contracts and through the Company's corporate insurance programs.

The Risk Management team is part of the broader Treasury & Investor Relations team, managed by the Vice President, Investor Relations & Treasury, and works with these teams on shared initiatives.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

Lead a team of Risk Management professionals
Perform market analysis on foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity markets that will drive key investment and capital market decisions
Work with operating units to monitor the Company's risk exposures and assist in the implementation of new hedging strategies
Ownership and accountability over the derivative trading lifecycle (trade execution, position and valuation reporting, confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, accounting)
Lead reporting on risk management activities, including regular updates to Senior Management and Board of Directors
Lead the month end and quarter end accounting closing processes and subsequent analysis
Lead the preparation of the annual insurance renewal and support other areas of the Company's corporate insurance programs
Support the management and reporting of the investment portfolio for the Maple Leaf Centre for Action on Food Security
Assist the risk management team with adhoc requests

What You'll Bring:

Degree in finance, business, accounting, or other quantitatively based degree. Master's degree an asset
5+ years of experience working in Treasury, Risk Analysis, with derivatives, or in another quantitative and detailoriented field
Strong understanding of drivers and trends in foreign exchange, commodity, and interest rate markets
2+ years experience transacting in foreign exchange, commodity, and interest rate derivatives
Hold a professional designation (CPA, CFA, or FRM)
Strong Excel and financial modeling skills (VBA experience is an asset)
Experience using Bloomberg, treasury management systems, and SAP
Strong mathematical skills and an ability to grasp accounting concepts
Knowledge of corporate insurance programs
