    Description

    As a Senior Claims Consultant, you are responsible for the process of reporting, documenting, and settlement of claims on behalf of major clients to an insurance company. This role is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the client service program in support of responsive and efficient client service delivery.
    Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

    What the day will look like

    Distinctive Client Value:

  • Advocating for clients to protect their interests in the claims process.
  • Obtaining claims details, triaging, and reporting claims to insurers.
  • Guiding clients on preparing their claim.
  • Discussing policy coverage on behalf of Aon clients.
  • Handling administration of claims to include following up on settlements/claim status, remitting settlements to clients and handling all necessary correspondence.
  • Monitoring large losses, attending loss sites and assisting clients in positive resolution of claims.
  • Preparing claims reports for clients and annual loss history reports as required.
  • Discussing aspects of coverage with insured and insurance company.
  • Operational Excellence:

  • Handling and resolving claims matters across multiple domains or clients, including participating in client meetings
  • Negotiating with insurers to obtain successful resolution of claims.
  • Using specialized claims knowledge to provide consultative advice and recommendations to clients and our Account Management and Broker teams in the various Aon offices.
  • Setting up Claims protocols on accounts
  • Conducting RFP's for adjusting services on behalf of clients
  • Co-ordinating handling of claims on assigned accounts.
  • Assisting Account Managers in marketing functions
  • Advising internal personnel (Account Management, Brokers, and other Claims colleagues) on claims matters and services.
  • Special assignments as designated by management
  • Other related duties as required

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 7-10 years of experience working in a commercial claims environment
  • Insurer or Broker experienced
  • Completion of/ working towards CIP/FCIP designation
  • AB General license (must obtain within 6 months of employment) along with licensing in other jurisdictions as required.
  • Strong claims knowledge in one or all of these areas: Professional lines, Casualty Claims or Property Claims
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities an asset
  • Strong negotiation and relationship managements skills
  • Ability to influence audience and act with diplomacy
  • Strong presentation skills, highly organized and can effectively manage competing demands
