Your Opportunity:

This Service Worker I opportunity supports the Maternal Child units at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Labour and Delivery, Obstetrical Operating Room, Postpartum, Pediatrics, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

You will play a key role in providing safe, quality care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

The Service Worker I assists professional personnel in caring for patients by ensuring availability of required supplies and equipment.

They will be responsible for stocking supplies, portering patients, transporting specimens to lab as needed, and other duties as required.

The incumbent plays an integral role in Infection Prevention by maintaining cleanliness of equipment, supplies, and unit in accordance with Infection Prevention Standards.

Must maintain a courteous and helpful approach with other team members, families and patients.

This role is physically demanding and involves frequent bending, lifting and carrying of items as well as long periods of standing and walking.


Description:


As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site.

You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.
