Description

The Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas of the building according to established procedures and, where applicable, according to company policies, guidelines and procedures.

The Cleaner will prepare and perform all work required to ensure that all areas of the building are clean and ready for use.

The position requires a person with a strong work ethic who is willing to take on the responsibility for the entire facility.

• Perform cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning ceiling vents, toilets, windows, floors and other surfaces in assigned areas such as offices, reception areas, stairwells and other common areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and remove trash from buildings and grounds.
• Clean windows by replacing paper or plastic film; using squeegees; using chemicals; cleaning windows with steam; cleaning windows with chemicals.
• Clean floors by patching cracks; using power tools; using chemicals.
• Maintain cleaning supplies stock by purchasing supplies when needed; reporting any shortages; maintaining cleanliness of equipment; following safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to read and follow written instructions as to work procedures.
• Must be able to read directions on labels and follow safety procedures.
• Must be able to read names and write down necessary information.
• Must be able to follow oral directions. Must be able to speak clearly enough for others to understand.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions for proper cleaning of surfaces and handling of materials. Must be able to follow safety procedures such as use of personal protective equipment or safety equipment when working in areas where safety does.
