Term of Employment

Wage

Negotiable based on experience.

Seasonal School Year Position

Successful applicant will start on a 3‑month probation period.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate in good standing.
• Array of professional development certificates.
• Valid driver's licence.

Desired Experience & Skills

• Experience teaching primary education, including learning interventions.
• Knowledge of blended learning techniques and teaching mixed‑ability classes.
• Experience with Read Well, Nelson Literacy, Jump Math, Math Makes Sense, and related programs.
• Knowledge and use of DIBELS/Acadience and CAT 2 assessment tools.
• Innovative ideas and creativity in the classroom.
• Ability to differentiate curriculum expectations and teaching strategies for all students.
• Ability to engage students in a positive learning environment.
• Management of student behaviour using school‑wide rules and discipline policy.
• Ability to incorporate Gitxsan culture/language into the curriculum.
• Experience with special‑needs students, especially those with language delay and behavioural needs.
• Team player, supportive of staff on the land.
• Guidance of classroom Education Assistants.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, inclusive of parent/community involvement.
• Willingness to participate in culture and language programs, and fundraising events.
