Job Overview:
Job Summary
We are looking to hire a qualified Facility Manager who is a mature Christian that models Christ in their life and is passionate about providing high quality, Christian-based Early Childhood Education.
Under the direction of the Director board team, the Facility Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the childcare facility to establish a positive learning environment for children.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in managing all aspects of a daycare facility, have a love for children, and strong leadership and supervisory skills to create a supportive and encouraging environment for teachers, parents, and children.
Duties:
Ensures and facilitates the smooth functioning of all aspects of the childcare facility in order to best serve children and families
- Ensure that center facilities are safe for children and comply with Federal, Provincial, and Municipal laws, childcare regulations, and licensing requirements at all times
- Provides supervision, leadership, and support to all center staff
- Train new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements
- Coordinate staff scheduling with approved teacherchild ratios (includes daily schedule, lunch breaks, and during holidays/sick days)
- Plan and implement regular staff meetings
- Consults, supports, and provides guidance to teaching staff in evaluating and revising the children's programming as required
- Ensures appropriate professional development opportunities are made available to center staff, within center budget parameters and in accordance with identified training needs of staff at the center
- Manage and implement childcare curriculum that is reflective of BGA's Christian values and compliant with Provincial requirements
- Oversee and manage all elements of center enrollment, ensuring full capacity and smooth integration of new clientchildren into the center
- Markets the center to prospective clientparents through word of mouth and sharing the marketing materials made available
- Provide facility tours
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping in terms of daycare records, client files, enrollment, payroll, and staffing
- Evaluate and notify the Director of requirements for daycare materials, equipment, and supplies every month
- Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures
- Send out weekly newsletters to keep parent updated on announcements and facility news
- Develop and maintain positive relationships and regular communication with parentclients through the Parent Communications App and inperson interactions; facilitates or directly provides mediation and resolution to parentprogram conflicts which arise
- Ensure policies and procedures are being followed by parentclients, guiding them and addressing concerns as they arise
- Host special events (i.e., Open Houses, birthday parties, Winter concerts, etc.) at the center when necessary
- Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director board.
Qualifications:
Have ECE certificate or Post Basic ECE
- Strong interest and appreciation in Christianbased childcare, school.
- Called to work with children and love for children
- Two or more years of experience in Early Childhood Education including administration, supervisory experience, and overseeing difference programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to manage: infant/toddler & 30 months school age program
- Familiar with the CCLR, JHSC, WCB and employment standard
- Positive experiences and excellence in customer service including establishing sincere, welcoming and meaningful engagement with parents, teachers, and children
- Have ability to work effectively as part of the leadership team
- Proven ability to lead professional development efforts and support educators within a teaching and learning environment that promotes lifelong learning and Reggio Emilia approach.
