We are a specialty service, truck carrier located in Delta, B.C. who provides general cargo, refrigerated and bulk commodity transportation throughout the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and Washington State.

Nature of Position:
Permanent, part-time (40 hours per week)


What You'll Do


The Driver Manager will play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the activities of a team of truck drivers within our Operations Department.

This position involves managing the driver employee life cycle, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining driver safety standards.

The Driver Manager also handles driver training, performance evaluations, and acts as a liaison between the drivers and the office.


You will:


  • Develop and manage driver safety, incentive programs, and driver recognition.
  • Attend and conduct a variety of meetings with key stakeholders in company initiatives.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
  • Interview and select employees and recommend transfers, reassignment, termination and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate driver onboarding including developing an onboarding / training program
  • Coordinate subordinate work assignments and review work to assure accuracy, completeness and compliance with established standards, requirements and procedures.
  • Direct driverrelated risk management training, such as safety and accident prevention programs.
  • Develop and manage driver communication channels such as driver meetings, newsletters and forecasts.
  • Manage and monitor driver HOS, Elogs and other Samsara functions.
  • Acting as a liaison between the drivers and internal stakeholders
  • Addressing driver concerns in a timely manner to ensure their needs are met thoroughly
  • Review driver performance, communications and infraction and complete progressive training and/or discipline as needed
  • Take driver feedback and coach planners and communications staff to better meet the drivers needs (and vice versa)
  • Reviewing and auditing driver envelopes.
  • Travel to Vancouver Island to meet with company drivers as needed
  • Other duties as required.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Experience within transportationbased industry is an asset
  • Must have experience managing a team and possess leadership skills
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge of Samsara an asset
  • Proven success in development and implementation of programs and initiatives.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal business partners, senior management and suppliers
  • Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementation skills
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
  • Meticulous records maintenance skills.
  • Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal skills
  • Proven skills to interact effectively with employees in order to direct work flow, assess performance and assign duties
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License

Shift Schedule - to be determined. Weekend availability may be required.

40 hours per week. Weekend or overtime availability may be required.
