Purpose of Position


This full-time position is for a Janitorial caretaker role for a mixed use residential strata and commercial building with a 3 level underground parkade located in the Kerrisdale neighbourhood.

This role is a full time position Monday through Friday. You will be reporting directly to the Property Manager.

The role will include, but not limited to the following:


Your main duties will include, but are not limited to:

Janitorial

  • Daily cleaning and inspection of the entire complex, garbage rooms to ensure the interior and exterior sidewalks, stairwells, parkades, & lobbies are clear of debris. This includes sweeping, mopping and hosing down exterior and interior hallways and parkades, emptying of trash containers, clean high touch point areas such as the elevator buttons, lobby and elevator doors;
  • Removal of snow/leaves, as required when the trades are unable to attend in a timely matter;
  • Maintain janitorial supplies inventory;
  • Keep common areas including the amenity room, washrooms clean and tidy;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned;
  • Putting together a daily, weekly & monthly cleaning schedule that will maximize cleanliness and efficiency around the property.

Caretaker

  • Coordination and management of trades/contractors;
  • Minor handyman tasks including changing of lightbulbs, adjusting door closers, tightening loose fixtures, railings, & door handles;
  • Programming interphone and fobs;
  • Keeping track of all keys and making sure they are organized;
  • Deliver and post notices to owners/residents/tenants;
  • Ability to respond to after hours emergencies, if required;

Summary of Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Experience as a caretaker in a Strata condo building is an asset
  • Smartphone and computer skills are a must (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and written
  • Customer service experience
  • Previous Building Manager/Operator or related field experience
  • Excellent task and time management, and organized and detail oriented
  • Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, mechanical & electrical systems
Having a vehicle is an asset.


Hours:
Monday to Friday 8:00-4:30


Hourly rate:
To be discussed.
