The Supervisor, Regional Pharmacy and Chemotherapy is responsible for ensuring quality patient care and competent, safe medication practices through the development of a robust regional pharmacy program based on industry best practices.
The Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of a progressive centralized five-site hospital Pharmacy, approve pharmacy and chemotherapy staffing, review and address workload measurement trends, supervise the practice of Pharmacy Technicians, and facilitate person-centered care and interprofessional collaboration with respect to Pharmacy and Chemotherapy services as a dynamic leader, the Supervisor will demonstrate creativity, flexibility and innovation; promote effective team building and help facilitate staff professional development through promotion of standards of practice and ongoing learning.
Currently the Regional Pharmacy Program consists of a partnership between the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital (AMGH) and the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA).
The Chemotherapy program is located at the Stratford General Hospital (SGH).REPORTS TO:
Manager, Regional Pharmacy and Chemotherapy

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician
- Continuing and progressive education in the area of business administration / management, preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- At least five years' progressive experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital pharmacy
- Demonstrated exceptional computer and technology skills required; Microsoft Office Suite and Meditech preferred
- Management or supervisory experience in hospital pharmacy setting preferred
ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills
- Demonstrated ability to instruct, train, mentor, and coach staff
- Proven skills in the areas of financial, human resource, quality improvement, change and program management
- Experience in project management methodology and process optimization
- Welldeveloped negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills necessary to gather and interpret qualitative and quantitative data
- Demonstrated positive attitude and solution based approach to conflict and system flaws
- Demonstrated planning, organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated working knowledge of all aspects and tasks completed by pharmacy support
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage competing demands and multiple priorities
- Ability to travel for work, training and/or educational events
- Ability to participate in a regular oncall rotation
