CURRENT OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking an intelligent and detail-oriented
Drafting / Mapping / GIS Technician.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

• Generating accurate technical drawings (plan-view and cross-section) that illustrate property information, geophysical information, site investigation information, and construction details as needed.
• Translating field notes and sketches onto technical drawings.
• Assisting with other project and administrative tasks as warranted.

All applicants
must:

• Hold a bachelor's degree, technical diploma, or certification that is directly relevant to this position.
• Be trained and experienced in using
  AutoCAD to create technical drawings. We primarily use AutoCAD LT (2D drawings only) but deal with elevations from survey files on occasion.
• Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat and/or Foxit, and have very strong general computer skills.
• Be fluent in English (verbal and written).
• Possess excellent organizational and communications skills, and attention to detail.
• Be reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines.

The
ideal applicant will also:

• Be trained and experienced in using
  ArcGIS to generate drawings and maps, incorporating information from various sources.
• Have experience in, and/or knowledge of, the environmental / geoscience industries in BC.
• Have experience in preparing technical reports and/or proposals.

The position and responsibilities may evolve over time, based on the employee's skills, performance, and career objectives.


PAY, BENEFITS & HOURS
This will be
permanent full time hourly position, with a
minimum of two weeks paid annual vacation to start. We anticipate a beginning wage of
$30 to $33 per hour, dependent on skills and experience.
