Matcon Excavation & Shoring Deep Foundations:

• Shoring Division is one of the Lower Mainland's leading and most highly respected construction companies. Due to continued growth we are currently seeking a Shoring Excavator Operator. You will be part of a rapidly growing group with room to move up with in the company.

Experience in
Excavation Construction is an asset, applicants must also have the ability to use small tools such as saws, hammers, drills, etc.

Applicants must have experience maintaining equipment, including pre-trips, inspections, maintaining fluid levels, and small repairs.


Responsibilities Include

• Knowledge of Shoring and Excavation Sites
• Shotcrete trimming experience is a requirement
• A great attitude towards safety and the safety of your peers
• Wet and dry condition experience
• Operate twoway radios and other communication equipment, perform minor repairs to equipment.
• Conduct preoperational inspections on equipment and clean, lubricate, and refill equipment
• Ensure proper and safe storage of equipment.
• Is expected to operate all equipment in a safe and highly efficient manner
• Ensure equipment is well maintained and conduct a preoperational check on equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and policies.
• Attention to detail and desire to provide highquality workmanship, get it right the first time.

Essential Job Functions

• Experience of 5,0008,000 Hours as a Shoring Operator
• Desire to work cooperatively as part of a productive team
• Ability to work safely, and independently without constant supervision
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule including different shifts and overtime when needed.
• Possible longer days, so overtime may be required on weekends too.
• Proven experience operating several types of equipment (excavator, bulldozer, front end loader, telehandler, skid steer, etc.)
• Maintenance/ daily paperwork
• Mastered the following tasks:
• Legal loading of trucks from stock pile & insitu
• Safe excavation slopes, etc.
• Site organization and able to keep site neat
• Understanding of handling
• Different soil types in wet& dry weather
• Understanding of grades
• Access and egress of site for trucks
• Bulk excavations, main line trenching, backfilling, hoe packing and hoe ramming‍
• Be able to recognize safety issues
• Must Contain a valid drivers license and be able to get to and from the job sites

Hours of work & Overtime

• Work preformed in excess of 8 hours per day shall be paid at the rate of one and a half times the regular rate of pay.
• Work preformed in excess of 11 hours per day shall be paid at the rate of 2 times the regular rate of pay.
• Employees who are required to work Saturday shall be paid one and a half times the regular rate of pay. Work preformed on Saturdays in excess of 11 hours shall be paid double the regular rate of pay.

Matcon works with the CLAC union and all new employees become members upon joining the company. Included in the remuneration perks are a safety gear allowance, RRSP (matched and unmatched), insurance benefits and holiday pay.

$36.61-$40.93 per hour
