Strategic Sourcing Group's (SSG) role, in collaboration with our business partners, is to create sustainable competitive advantage for TDBG by leveraging this third party spend and the expertise of our key suppliers to meet our needs, reduce total cost, and mitigate supply-related risks.

Our role is global in scope and we have embarked on a journey within our department, and more broadly across the organization, to transform the way we do sourcing, procurement, purchasing and vendor management.

Our team comprises over 200 people who are located in various TDBG locations across North America.

Job Description:

Assists the Senior Category Manager to support business partners
Manages category and strategic sourcing strategies that support TD and business partner needs and objectives as well as help to mitigate risks to business and TDBFG
Provides guidance on outsourcing governance best practices
Contributes to TDBFG's target savings while meeting the needs of internal business partners
Monitors supplier contract value and category spend compliance
Develops demand management strategies for category specialty (spend analytics, identify spend efficiencies and sourcing opportunities) and category value optimization strategies (total cost of ownership analytics and optimization, supply chain quality improvements, cost modeling, procurement related economics & financial analysis)
Monitors supplier contract value and category spend compliance
Supports the development and implementation of North American category strategies employing category management best practices
Conducts market intelligence activities for category specialty Industry, supply market and supply chain research and analytics, category sourcing and outsourcing trends and best practices
Develops sourcing strategies and with oversight of Senior Category Manager, manages strategic sourcing activities
Leads sourcing initiatives including requirements gathering, supplier/solutions evaluation and supplier selection activities
Leads contract negotiations with external suppliers and internal stakeholders
Ensures sourcing process and supplier contracts deliver maximum quality, at service levels and/or price points that meet business partners requirements
Facilitates the vendor selection process working as a team with Associates and Analysts

Requirements:

4 Year Degree or equivalent experience
7+ Years of related experience
Must have excellent negotiating and influencing skills to be utilized during internal and external negotiations
Must have strong Relationship Management skills, Negotiation skills, Project Management experience
Strong presentation skills and strong analytical skills
Specialized knowledge required to negotiate and assess vendors on behalf of the Bank
Must have general knowledge of Strategic Sourcing lifecycle
Must have general knowledge of the TD Bank organizational structure, including the main business groups and their functions, key contact points, etc
May be required to travel to various business unit/client locations
Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.
