About the role


Canadian Blood Services is looking for a
Regular Full-Time Analyst, Data & Analytics to join our dynamic
IT Center of Excellence team.


The
IT Center of Excellence team has a vision to gain clarity, confidence, and tools to use deep analysis, modelling, agility and forecasting to inform decision-making, maintain a healthy donor population, and improve patient outcomes with the overall goal of helping the health systems operate more effectively to derive the best quality and value.

In this role, you will harness data for in-depth analysis, derive insights, articulate complex information through data visualizations and storytelling to support the operational and strategic goals of the organization.


Formula for success

  • Capitalizing on your technical expertise, understand the requirements and identify key business questions that need to be addressed through data analysis.
  • Partnering with business leaders, gather relevant analytical requirements, support efforts to educate leaders and decision makers on how to analyze, interpret, visualize and communicate with data using a consistent organizational vocabulary.

Desired education and skills

  • Advanced (preferably Masters) degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a University Degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, computer engineering or related field; an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Three to five years of combined experience with data processing, data science and modelling.
  • Strong programming skills and statistical modeling (such as experience with Power BI, Azure Synapse or SQL Server Data Warehouse, Python/R/SAS/STATA etc.)
  • Knowledge or experience with one or more business or functional area such as supply chain management, finance, human resources,
  • Advanced organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the use of AI or machine learning is an asset.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

What you can expect

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location at least 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
  • You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
  • If you are located outside of Ottawa, you may be expected to travel to one of our office location in Ottawa quarterly for inperson team meetings when required.
