In your role, you will:

  • Analyze new and complex designs of major modifications, major assemblies, installations, subassemblies, detail parts and recommend design changes. Shows progressive manufacturing bill of material for parts and assembly.
  • Develop, conceive, conceptualize and generate requests for all related tooling including masters, interchangeability/replace ability media and tool coordination requirements.
  • Issue instructions to facilitate tool design and fabrication including tool type, quantity and performance requirements. Recommend jig functions and hard point locations for tool coordination. Develop fabrication plans including machining, processing, and assembly. Prepare surface treatment processes, amend process sheets in shop as required.
  • Generate requests, parts list, assembly sequence and condition of supply information. Liaise with all departments including Production, Procurement, and Engineering in order to resolve inhouse and vendor technical problems and facilitate continuous improvement opportunities. Liaise regarding condition of supply and produceability.
  • Work in design build teams and provide process capability and commit to produce ability. Define and order hand tools and consumables.
  • Responsible for relevant work required for actioning RNCs. May investigate discrepant parts and tools using lofted information. May handcarry parts and tooling for investigate purposes.
  • Working with Production, Engineering and Finance, the Methods Analyst will be responsible for providing recurring and nonrecurring production and direct support labour hour estimates for Mod's, change proposals, customer requests, cost reduction initiatives and make/buy requests. Works under supervision with little direction. Provide guidance to junior personnel engaged in related activities. Perform other related duties as required.
  • Work has to do with simple new projects or repetitive assignments. Must plan or replan the operations on any of the following projects utilizing existing machinery and tooling where practical. Also estimate operations times.
  • Small assemblies, subassemblies or detail parts.
  • Rework of parts.
  • Changes to previously designed and processed products
  • Tools, jigs, etc.
  • Assemblies excluding details manufacture.
  • Recommend the type and quality of material, fixtures, jigs, gauges and tools required to produce parts processed. May prepare simple sketches to clarify suggestions, contacting tool design, estimate time for tool manufacture. After clearance with seniors, recommend design changes to facilitate manufacture. Supply technical information and advice to shop personnel on projects assigned. Prepare related paperwork such as operation sheets, charts, graphs, purchase requisitions, concessions, route cards, progress reports. On assignments such as 1 and 3 above, work is assigned with verbal or written instructions and spot checked. May work on projects of Process Planner I under specific direction and supervision. May assign, coordinate and check the work of others. Own work is spot checked.
  • Estimate correctly from drawings or sketches the accurate finished cost of a part or parts for which records provide only a portion of the essential information. May be required to prepare accurate estimate on parts for which no past record is available. Is required to fill available time on work which is relevant to the classification.
  • Perform routine tasks or special assignments pertaining to Change Board scheduling problems; develop change commitment schedules and prepare flow charts using dates and flow times committed by Board members; investigate and analyze technical design or process difficulties, report on and/or as required, make recommendations to facilitate corrective change schedules, compose committed development schedule with new or revised engineering change memo/proposal to assure a complete manufacturing plan necessary to accomplish the change; develop for commitments by change representative, master and detail schedules, change effectivity, flow times and completion dates for each change; make recommendations to change board representative to ensure that all change commitments are valid and workable; coordinate all necessary change requirements with Manufacturing, Engineering organizations to meet compliance with Change Board commitment of all affected organizations. Perform other special tasks and assignments as required by supervisor.
