Prep/Line Cook

Birdies Clubhouse at Paragon Golf & Country Club is a new restaurant and bar opening in spring 2024.

We are responsible for all food and beverage operations at the golf course, including lunch and dinner service, takeout options, and tournament banquets.

Located in Kingston, Nova Scotia, we aim to take advantage of the Annapolis Valley's agricultural abundance to create gourmet versions of bar and grill classics, as well as unique specials featuring fresh flavours from around the globe.

Duties

  • Prepare sandwiches and other takeout items.
  • Prepare ingredients for lunch and dinner service.
  • Cook and plate food items with attention to quality, consistency, and safety.
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and orderly kitchen environment, including following appropriate health regulations and food handling procedures.
  • Clean and organize surfaces and equipment.
  • Help limit food waste and manage inventories/costs.
  • Demonstrate courtesy and collegiality in interactions with customers and other Birdies/Paragon staff.

Qualifications:


  • Training or experience preferred but not required.
  • Enthusiasm for food and beverage, ability to learn quickly and follow instruction.
  • Some understanding of cooking techniques and safe food handling (will be required to obtain food handler certification).
  • Ability to manage pressure situations and work collaboratively in a fastpaced, teamoriented environment.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
