Straight Night Shift (7:00pm-7:00am):

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
  • Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday

Knowledge and proficient in all skills necessary to perform all positions in order to cover for absenteeism, vacation etc.

This position must provide support to all employees/positions to ensure a smooth product flow through the coverage area of the plant concerning quality, safety, and efficiency.


General Responsibilities:


  • Clean work areas and equipment, including around the presses and Wet End, and assist in removing any full bins to the Pulper room.
  • Responsible to fillin for any employee that may be absent.
  • Must be flexible to cover for breaks, meetings, etc. in an emergency situation or with little notice.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, visitors, contractors and members of the management team
  • Weigh, measure, and check production samples to assess conformance to specifications using scales and gauges and visual verification. Record all data collected in the appropriate locations at required Intervals.
  • Occasionally complete and maintain production records
  • Perform all work with adherence to safety and housekeeping procedures.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Procedures.
  • Participate in specific training programs to keep skills current.
  • Ensure quality assurance is maintained at each job function for which they provide relief, from Wet End, After Press to Printers or Labelers or Hybrid, each job requires specific responsibilities to ensure a quality product.
  • Assist in startup, shutdown, setup and adjustment and maintenance of equipment and machinery as required.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate machine stoppages.
  • Train or assist in training new workers.
  • Clean work area and equipment, removing scrap, dust and other by products from machinery and surrounding areas.
  • Perform additional duties as required by Supervision in compliance with relevant legislation and safety procedures.

Requirements:


  • Willing to be trained in all areas of production, including operating printer machinery (labeller/printer), stock prep, (wet end operations), robotic forklift operations (AGV operator), and general warehouse duties.
  • Pass mechanical aptitude test, basic math, colour blind test, and basic computer literacy test
  • Completion of Grade 1
  • Criminal background check to be completed
  • Must be able to work permanent full time hours (40 hours per week)
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience
